The Soldiers Table Unveiled
The third episode concluded with a major cliffhanger and introduced the premier party of adventurers who will branch out from the main group to undertake their own adventure, separate from the other two tables.
This warrior group includes Teor Pridesire (played by Travis Willingham), Thimble (Laura Bailey), the strong-willed figure (Whitney Moore), Wicander Halovar (Sam), and Kattigan Vale (the actor).
Why Split the Party?
Given a large ensemble, it was clear from the outset that keeping everyone at one table would be unworkable.
This explains, the opening chapters of the new season serve as an Introduction, intertwining the individual narratives before splitting into three separate parties: Soldiers, Planners, and Explorers.
Characteristics of the Warrior Group
Per Brennan Lee Mulligan, the warrior group is for players who are drawn to a traditionally charged combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where peaceful solutions are scarce.
Upon first impression, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander might look unsuited, but the developments of episode 3 show why these particular heroes are best suited for the warrior group.
Why They Must Go
First, the group has a clear idea where to proceed after a violent opening clash with The Crow Keepers.
Casimir of Thjazi Fang—whose demise kicked off the campaign’s events—exploited the enemy for his own means, entering the hidden lair, assaulting the character, and swiping all the magical artifacts to auction.
Casimir then cleared his debts and escaped to a fortified location in the remote area, beyond the city, with Cyd close behind.
Individual Reasons
Secondly, each adventurer has a specific drive to exit the metropolitan area:
- The rogue, as the companion and best friend, seeks vengeance.
- The adventurer has experience in the region and warns that it is a hostile place.
- The strong character and Wicander, having disobeyed his house’s orders to kill Teor and instead freed him, have no safe haven.
- But, their status as important members in the influential clan could assist the team enter areas they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Furthermore, The grateful character vowed a unbreakable promise to The cleric for his rescue and will now accompany him wherever.
Wanted and Hunted
In addition, all of them are sought by the rulers that control Dol-Makjar for a multiple motives, making lingering locally too risky:
- The agile adventurer and The character are recognized lawbreakers.
- The warrior and Wicander turned against House Halovar and the army of fiends they are partnered with.
- The fighter is wanted dead by the family.
This means them few options but to journey toward the remote area in search of the antagonist.
What’s Next?
