The visionary game developer, the mind behind the wildly popular first-person shooter Call of Duty, has tragically died in a vehicle crash in California at the age of 55.

His passing was verified by Electronic Arts, the parent company of Respawn Entertainment, the development studio he co-founded.

The renowned game designer died after his automobile collided and caught fire on a freeway in Los Angeles on Sunday, according to.
