Jurgen Klopp states rejoining to lead Liverpool is theoretically possible.
The German coach, who stepped down from Anfield in 2024, remarked that returning someday is a possibility. The 58-year-old, following a hugely successful near-decade reign that included Champions League success and the Premier League crown for three decades, now holds positions overseeing worldwide football with the Red Bull group and as an advisor for the DFL.
Fan Sentiment and Klopp’s Candid Remarks
They secured the Premier League in the previous campaign, yet numerous supporters who adore the manager would welcome the notion of his potential comeback. During an extensive chat, he shared with his interviewer: “I declared I won't manage a different club in England. So that means should it be the Reds...yeah. Theoretically it’s possible.”
“Being 58, which suggests I could make the decision in a few years, who knows. Is a decision required immediately? If so, I wouldn't return. Fortunately, no such pressure exists. I'll simply watch what the future brings.”
What Would Lure Him Back?
Pressed on which situations must arise to draw him back to management, he revealed he isn't eager to such a return. “It's unclear to me, I enjoy my current role,” he commented. “I don’t miss coaching; No desire to be during downpours through long matches; No need for media briefings four times, three times a week or constant media duties a week.
“The locker room isn't missed in that context, but sitting in a restaurant with the team enjoying conversation, that’s nice. We won a lot of games so there was often great spirits around the place. I still have the captain's chuckle ringing in my ears as an instance.”
Praise for His Successor
Klopp was full of praise for his successor, crediting him for the tweaks that won the league last term. They've been defeated four consecutive matches in every contest post heavy investment, but he rubbished the notion it could be a slump.
“[Liverpool have] a phenomenal forward in Flo[rian] Wirtz, critics will regret if you use the wrong words. A remarkable prospect. [Hugo] Ekitike, superb talent. This is a well-built balanced team. You don’t have to worry over the club, they will be fine.”
Heartfelt Words for Diogo Jota
The manager expressed deep feeling regarding the passing of Jota, whom he brought in during his tenure, and the effect on Liverpool. Jota died tragically in a vehicle collision with his brother this past summer.
“How do you replace such an individual? This isn't just regarding his footballing ability, it’s the guy he was. I struggle to conceive the team environment without him in it. Putting it into words is tough regarding this. It was an incredible shock for all the boys as well. Not a single person might employ it as an excuse but it is the situation. Being in that space where he was omnipresent. Dealing with that individually is not easy. Unbearable.”
