Former Doctor Faces Assault Allegations Involving 38 Patients

Prosecutors report that a former doctor stands accused of performing sexual assaults against thirty-eight victims who were under his care.

Details of the Grave Allegations

Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with numerous sexual offences – comprising some against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021.

One senior prosecutor said, “Legal teams have worked at length to support a thorough and intricate investigation, meticulously examining the available evidence to establish that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”

Scope of the Police Inquiry

These allegations follow what investigators called a “detailed inquiry” into reported assaults at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley.

Spencer is due to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.

List of Offences

The charging documents said the 45 charges he is charged with:

  • Fifteen counts of assault.
  • Seventeen counts of penetrative assault.
  • 9 counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
  • 3 counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
  • 1 count of attempted penetrative assault.
