The EU could “act quickly and firmly” against what it deems “unwarranted” visa bans issued by the US against five Europeans working on combating digital hatred and misinformation, a European Commission spokesperson has said.

European leaders such as Emmanuel Macron charged Washington of “bullying and threats”, following the visa restrictions targeted figures who have been central to efforts to introduce laws governing American tech companies.
