Across the fiercely cutthroat realm of video games, it's usual for new contenders to vanish as quickly as they enter the stage.

Yet the latest Battlefield is hoping to shift that dynamic.

It's the latest entry in a long-running military shooter line frequently positioned as a more realistic alternative to the CoD series.

The franchise has not quite succeeded to match its best-known rival in terms of sales or players, but indicators suggest the recent entry could narrow the difference.

An early access session giving players a chance to try out the game in recent months broke records, and the excitement approaching its release has been huge.

However the endeavor is nonetheless a significant risk for publisher its creators, which has allegedly spent vast amounts of dollars making it.

Reporters have spoken to a number of the developers to learn how they hope it will succeed.

Production Team and Studio Partnership

A total of four studios are creating the project under the unified development umbrella.

This includes long-time creator Dice, based in Europe, LA's Motive Studios and Ripple Effect in Canada.

The fourth, the UK studio, is situated in England.

A key leader is the executive of the pair of EU-based studios, and tells reporters that, in respect of what it's delivering players, "the latest installment is probably unbeatable."

Building On Past Errors

The game comes off the back of the advanced the last installment, published four years ago to a poor reception it had difficulty to bounce back from.

"We probably would find it impossible to build and design this new game lacking the lessons we acquired in the last release," the manager shares with us.

One of those takeaways was to engage the community involved soon, and the studio started exclusive player testing sessions earlier this year.

This "response was extremely encouraging," says Rebecka.

A further omitted element from the previous installment was a story mode, which has been brought back this time around.

Criterion creative lead the design director is the individual tasked with "ensuring those stages are as fun and engaging as feasible for the gamers."

Despite claims that the scale of the project had challenged the different teams working together internationally to build the title, the director is upbeat about the work.

"Collaborating with diverse perspectives, varied backgrounds, it's a very engaging atmosphere to be part of daily," he explains.

"This entire approach has been a fresh take but also truly thrilling because we are partnering with people from around the globe."

Concerning the anticipation on the crew, the director says: "We feel pressure but also it's exciting.

"We're dealing with a large undertaking. It's likely the largest that the majority of the team have before been involved in."

Emerging Developer Contributes New Insight

That's definitely accurate of a minimum of a single staff, VFX specialist Vlad.

The 21-year-old produces the lighting elements that influence the mood, style, and focus of the story mode.

The artist undertook an work placement at the developer preceding obtaining a job with them, and now is employed part-time while finishing his visual effects qualification at his school.
