Brian Eno Urges Support to Send Together for Palestine Song to UK Festive Top Spot.
A charity drive is aiming to propel a cultural melody to the Christmas number one spot. The effort aims to send support to Gaza's residents while also spotlighting Palestinian cultural expression.
An Opportunity for Support and an "Surprise Victory"
Composer and producer Brian Eno, who features on the track, stated that the song titled Lullaby represents a moment to support Palestinians over the Christmas period. He acknowledged the potential for an unexpected chart success.
“That would be amazing if that happened, yes,” he stated. “I wouldn't be completely let down if it doesn't manage to, festive releases are a unique phenomenon.”
Resilient Spirit of Dignity and Freedom
Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who sings on the adaptation of a traditional lullaby called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the song's powerful central theme.
“It occupies a profound significance for many individuals,” Barghouti explained. “The message is that I would rather die in dignity than spend my life without freedom. That is the core idea of the song; we want to live a respectful existence that we merit as a people.”
Track's Background and Contributing Musicians
The single was laid down in the wake of a large-scale benefit event held in September. Originally intended to be captured during the live event, the piece was shelved during the concert due to the event running long.
The impressive roster of performers contributing to Lullaby includes a group of prominent voices from the music world. All participated in the September show, which reportedly raised a considerable total for humanitarian aid.
Final Touches and Availability
Lullaby was crafted by a team of music creators. The track showcases a mix of the original Arabic with freshly written English words.
The organizers behind the campaign have emphasized that their aim is to collect the highest amount for a dedicated fund. These resources will be channeled to projects in Palestine through an established charity.
“We haven't set a rigid aim,” a representative explained. “We’ll go for the maximum achievable. Obviously, the greater the amount, the better. Every penny goes out to the people of Gaza.”
The situation in the area was noted for its profound destruction, with a huge proportion of infrastructure described as destroyed or damaged.
“Given that reality, a handful of millions doesn’t make that much difference. But I think the significant factor is above all spreading knowledge of this plight and demonstrating there’s another side to the story.”
The song is set to be released on Friday. Additionally, a full recording of the benefit event will be made ready to watch on a major video platform from later in the month.
